Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have to combat low self-esteem. When we pray, we are asking God to help us see ourselves the way He sees us – as His beloved children. We are also asking Him to give us the strength and courage to do good work in the world. The best way to combat Satan, the author of insecurities is with prayer. Here are some prayers and bible verses for self-worth and self-love that you can write down or print off.

Jesus Christ is our perfect example of someone who had complete self-respect, despite all of the challenges and trials He faced. By following His example, and by praying for His help, we can learn to respect ourselves – no matter what anyone else may think or say about us.

I much prefer writing out my prayers than saying them aloud. A few years ago when the movie War Room, based on Priscilla Shirer’s book Fervent, came out I learned how valuable keeping a Prayer Journal or Prayer Room was. This was a very turbulent time in my life and while my prayers were not answered in the way I asked, God still rescued me and lead me to a life of prosperity.

This blog was started to help other women find God-fidence, so I hope these daily prayers can help you.

Prayers for Self Worth

“Dear God, I know that I am made in Your image and likeness. I know that You have good plans for me. I ask that You would help me to see myself the way that You see me. Help me to have healthy self-esteem and to respect myself enough to do good work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

“Father God, I thank You that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I know that You love me just the way I am. Help me to believe this more and more each day. Heal any areas of low self-esteem in my life and help me to have the self-confidence to follow the will of God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

“Dear Lord, King of Kings, grant me the strength to overcome my insecurities and let go of negative thoughts about myself. Help me to take care of my body and mind and to fill my life with self-confidence. Thank you for always being there for me and for loving me unconditionally. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

“Heavenly Father, Thank you for revealing to me that I am imprisoning myself by not seeing the value and worth in your creation of me. I know that you have blessed me immensely with talent and a resilient heart. Lord, I ask for your help as I pursue my dreams. Multiply my confidence and help me believe that you have set me up for glory. Amen.”

“ Dear God, Lord of Lords, I pray that you help my soul to be content. Let me be satisfied with who I am, and who you are molding me to be. May I never doubt my importance in this world. All you have given me is magnificent and beautiful. I pray that I may live in confidence, courage, and faith to perform your good deeds. Remind me that I am a ray of your brilliance that cannot be replaced and a precious child of God. Amen”

“Dear Heavenly Father, Please forgive me for allowing my human nature to place so much importance on the approval of others rather than through the eyes of God. I will humble myself and rely on you for strength when I have feelings of low self-worth. I know that I am worthy of love because everything you make is good. When I have feelings of worthlessness I will remind myself that God’s love is enough to sustain me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

“Dear loving heavenly Father, God, I am Your workmanship. You created me to do good works and give service in this world so that it can be filled with the grace of God. Help me to view myself from your perspective. Open my eyes to the strengths, abilities, and talents that You have placed inside of me. Help me to not have a spirit of fear but a spirit of God, Amen.”

25 Bible Verses for Self-love

1. 1 John 4:16-18 NIV

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world, we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

2. Genesis 1:26-27 NIV

“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

3. 1 John 3:1 NIV

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

Pray to God for Self-Confidence

Many people struggle with self-confidence. However, when we look to God for our self-confidence, we can find everything we need. The power of the Holy Spirit working in us gives us all the strength and courage we need to face whatever challenges come our way. And when we trust in God, we can live an abundant life full of His love and grace. It is also important to remember that a humble spirit is one of the most attractive qualities a person can have. When we are humble and rely on God’s strength, rather than our own, we are more likely to succeed in whatever we set out to do. So if you are struggling with self-confidence, look to God. He will give you everything you need to overcome your doubts and live a life full of purpose and meaning.
